On May 9, the Center of New Structural Economics at Nankai University was established.

On May 22-23, the International Conference on Recent Development in New Structural Economics and Finance was successfully held.

On May 30, the Institute of New Structural Economics at Zhengzhou University was inaugurated.

On June 6, the Institute of New Structural Economics at Nanchang University was set up.

On June 18, the New Structural Economics Development Financing Reports were launched and the symposium on development finance was held in Beijing.

On June 28-30, the 3rd China International Conference in Macroeconomics (CICM) was held.

On July 23, the online seminar on regional economic quality development and industrial upgrading from the perspective of new structural economics was held.

In September, the institute recruited 10 doctoral freshmen to the school, and held a meeting for the 2021 freshmen on September 6.

On September 9, the Institute held its First New Structural Economics Disciplinary Development Conference and Working Group Meeting.

On September 25, the Center of New Structural Economics at Hohai University was inaugurated.

On October 15, Professor Justin Yifu Lin won the Master Teaching Award” in 2021.

On October 19-20, INSE launched the first global database on public development banks (PDBs) and development financing institution (DFIs) in collaboration with French Development Agency at the Finance in Common Summit (FiCS).

On October 20, the opening ceremony of the second Experimental Class of New Structural Economics was held in the School of Economics of Peking University, and 5 students were admitted.

On October 24, the third anniversary of the Yangtze River Delta (Shaoxing) Research Center of New Structural Economics and the first Conference on Discipline Construction and Think Tank Cooperation of the New Structural Economics Research Consortium were successfully held.

On December 5, the NSE Parallel Session of the 21th China Economics Annual Conference was held.

On December 13-14, the 8th International Annual Workshop on New Structural Economics (NSE) was successfully held online.

On December 15, the 4th International Academic Advisory Council Meeting was successfully held.
